Meet. Connect. Grow.
In addition to worshiping as a group every Sunday, Urban Abbey also hosts a series of monthly get-togethers for all ages designed to help you connect with the community and grow in your spirituality.
Youth Ministry
As United Methodists, the Urban Abbey teaches a shared method of engaging the hands, heart, and head in the life of faith, a holiness that is social and personal. Our events offer tools for children, teens, and young adults to study, reflect, and center as they grow spiritually.
Campus Ministry
The Urban Abbey offers college students a safe space to talk, debate, listen, and have fun — to be themselves, whoever that may be. At our events, we welcome people with different theological viewpoints, from various races and cultures, and of every sexual orientation and gender identity.
Adult Ministry
Each month, the Urban Abbey offers adult ministry opportunities where we can learn together about the Abbey community, spiritual practices, and other topics that help us to grow in relationship with God and one another. Some examples include Grow Night, small groups, and Wesley Pub.
Special Events
Drag Story Hour
At our Drag Story Hour (Nebraska Chapter) events, glamorous, positive drag queens read stories to children. This is an opportunity for kids to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and experience a world where dress up is real.
A Rabbi and a Reverend Talk About …
Grief, sex, other tough subjects. Join rabbis from Beth El Synagogue and reverends from the United Methodist community for frank talks about modern subjects.
Ukulele Happy Hour
Come have the happiest of happy hours rocking your ukulele with other like-minded ukulele players. Don’t play the ukulele? The audience is always welcome to sing along and join in the fun.
