Jane Florence (She/Her)

Reverend Dr. Florence has been the senior pastor at Saint Paul United Methodist Church since July 2018.  She brings 20 years of pastoral leadership in both large urban and small rural congregations. Her passion for advancing progressive theology and commitment to social justice announces a message of God’s love for all people and reminds us of our challenge to be the hands and feet that work for dignity, inclusion and justice for all.

Before Saint Paul UMC, Jane served at Omaha First UMC for 11 years. She holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from Chicago Theological Seminary.

Before her call to ministry, she taught high school English and served as a school principal in Corpus Christi, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University-San Antonio and two Master of Science degrees from Texas A & M – Corpus Christi.

She enjoys kayaking, traveling, playing the Irish bodhram drum, and watching the seasons change in Nebraska.
