All are welcome

Urban Abbey is a progressive United Methodist Church community. Just as people used to gather around the water well to discuss the teachings of Jesus and connect with neighbors, we invite you to gather with us at our coffee shop for Sunday worship and spiritual reflections.

Spiritual Practices

Spiritual practices urge us to draw deep into God’s presence, to listen, to open ourselves to the Spirit’s urging. There are so many ways to explore prayer through worship and song, through quiet and time-tested methods.

Here are a few of Urban Abbey’s spiritual practices:

  • Recollection/centering down

  • Praying the scriptures

  • Intercessory prayer

  • Wesleyan covenant prayer

  • Zen meditation

  • Urban walking labyrinth

  • Alternative advent calendar
