League of Women Voters of Greater Omaha (LWVGO)
The LWVGO, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Nebraska AIDS Project
Nebraska AIDS Project leads the community in the fight to overcome HIV/AIDS and its stigma through education, supportive services and advocacy.

Elevate Omaha
Elevate Omaha provides young people opportunities to participate and develop skills in four foundational pillars: youth-led participatory action research (YPAR), technical assistance, advocacy and grantmaking.

Nebraska Appleseed
Nebraska Appleseed is a nonprofit organization that fights for justice and opportunity for all Nebraskans. They work with the community to tear down obstacles that keep the poorest poor and further weaken those who are the most vulnerable.

Omaha Together One Community (OTOC)
OTOC seeks to connect people across lines, including race and ethnicity, economics, religion, geography and language. They teach people to become effective leaders, explore interests, do solid research, engage in respectful public discourse, and create positive change.

Inclusive Communities
Inclusive Communities envisions a society that is strengthened by diversity, inclusion, respect, equity, and justice for all people. They confront prejudice, bigotry, and discrimination through TableTalks, lectures, educational opportunities, and more.

Tri-Faith Initiative
Tri-Faith Initiative brings together into permanent residency a synagogue, church, mosque, and interfaith center on one campus. They aim to create a more inclusive culture in which religious pluralism is socially normative.

Women's Fund of Omaha
The Women’s Fund works on the most critical challenges facing women and girls by identifying issues through research, investing grant money in local non-profits, and leading dynamic change by advocating for effective policy solutions.

Strongly Worded Letters
Strongly Worded Letters is a partnership between our Operations Manager Gab Rima and Johnny Redd, Communications Manager at OutNebraska. SWL’s focus is educating and creating change through grassroots organizing.

BLUEBARN Theatre
The BLUEBARN Theatre exists to provoke thought, emotion, action, and change by producing contemporary, professional theatre.

Circle Theatre
Circle theatre creates productions for differently abled individuals to view and participate in quality theatre within a barrier-free environment.

WhyArts, Inc.
WhyArts is dedicated to providing Omaha’s underserved populations with access to inclusive quality arts programming.

Community

Downtown Improvement District
The Downtown Improvement District supports, preserves, creates and enhances a clean, green, safe and active, competitive and thriving Downtown Omaha that attracts and retains businesses, employees, residents and visitors.

Habitat Omaha Young Professionals
In partnership with Habitat Omaha, Omaha Habitat Young Professionals engages young professionals in creating positive change by promoting homeownership. Their vision is to eliminate poverty housing through volunteerism, advocacy and fundraising.

Old Market Association
The Old Market Association is a collaborative advocate and community resource that strives to nurture the business and resident environment to improve the experience of those visiting, working, and living in Omaha's Old Market.

Education

King Science & Technology Magnet Center
Located in North Omaha, King Science educates students to their maximum potential – academically and socially. They provide a safe and respectful learning environment that appreciates cultural diversity.

True Potential Scholarships
The The True Potential Scholarship began by focusing on creating opportunities for young immigrants who have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) and Temporary Protective immigration Status (TPS) and later expanded to include all immigrants. Their mission is to help young immigrants reach their True Potential through quality, affordable education.

Liberty Elementary School
Liberty is a life-long learning center for students, parents, and others in our community. They offer English as a Second Language classes and other learning opportunities for adults and create a foundation for many children whose first language is not English.

Nebraska Extension and 4-H in Douglas-Sarpy Counties
Nebraska Extension and 4-H in Douglas-Sarpy Counties offers science-based educational programming and outreach to improve the lives and lifestyles of local youth and families.

Homelessness & Poverty

Pettigrew Emergency Shelter at the Stephen Center
The Pettigrew Emergency Shelter is a substance-free facility featuring dorms and shelter units. They work to help homeless men, women and children develop a plan for success to overcome barriers and emerge from homelessness.

Together, Inc.
Together, Inc. forms strategic partnerships and collaborations to prevent and end homelessness. They envision a community where everyone experiences safe, affordable housing, food security, health and wellness.

Immigration & Legal

Dreamer's Pathway Scholarship
The Dreamer’s Pathway Scholarship provides tuition, fees, and books scholarships for students who are Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Nebraska residents seeking an undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Immigrant Legal Center (ILC)
ILC welcomes immigrants into the community by providing high-quality legal services, education, and advocacy.

Legal Aid of Nebraska
Legal Aid of Nebraska provides free civil legal services to support and stand side-by-side with low-income Nebraskans to ensure the fair enforcement of the law, to protect the rights of the people, and to address urgent legal needs.

Lutheran Family Services (LFS) of Nebraska: Immigration Legal Services
LFS offers affordable, quality immigration legal assistance to refugees, immigrants and asylees and is available for individuals in removal or deportation proceedings who need representation in Immigration Court.

LGBTQ+ Rights

Drag Story Hour Nebraska
Drag Story Hour Nebraska fosters connection, celebration, and fun through storytelling. The Urban Abbey is proud to host monthly story hours, to provide a safe and affirming environment to gender creative children and adults alike - and to have a wonderful, whimsical, and glamorous family-friendly event.

OutNebraska
OutNebraska believes in a Nebraska that embraces and celebrates the full spectrum of LGBTQIA2S+ people. Often, LGBTQIA2S+ Nebraskans experience discrimination, disparaties, and isolation – particularly transgender people and people of color. OutNebraska is dedicated to empowering, celebrating, and growing LGBTQIA2S+ communities in Nebraska.

PFLAG Omaha
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons through: support for families, allies and people who are LGBTQ+; education about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ+; and advocacy to create policies and laws that achieve full equality for people who are LGBTQ+.

River City Gender Alliance
Founded in 1986, River City Gender Alliance (RCGA) is an Omaha based all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides peer support, friendship and understanding for transgender, gender non-conforming individuals and their families. Monthly support meetings, social outings and community involvement are integral.

Trans Stitchin’
Trans Stitchin’ is a free community closet that provides gender affirming clothing, shoes, undergarments, accessories, and toiletries to the Omaha metro. They are dedicated to connecting the community with a network of resources which include social support, legal name change information, and mental health and medical providers.

Women, Children & Families

Grief's Journey
Grief’s Journey is a place to find help, understanding, comfort and hope after suffering a loss. They serve adults and children ages 3-18, grieving a death or serious illness/injury.

Intercultural Senior Center
The Intercultural Senior Center improves the dignity, quality of life and physical well-being of seniors from around the world through advocacy, education, access to social services, and cultural enrichment activities that benefit the entire community.
 

Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance
Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance improves children's health by creating environmental equality in Omaha and offering education on home health hazards, tenant legal rights, environmental testing, construction upgrades, and information on community resources.

The Big Garden
The Big Garden grows healthy food, healthy kids, and healthy communities by building gardens; teaching children to grow, cook, and preserve their own food; and providing education to address the systemic nature of hunger in our communities.
 

Visiting Nurses Association (VNA)
VNA provides healthcare, education, and supportive services to individuals and families in Omaha and Council Bluffs who are uninsured and under-resourced. They serve clients in homeless and domestic violence shelters, group maternity homes, teen moms in apartments housing multi-generations, and older adults living at home who need assistance to remain independent.

I Be Black Girl
I Be Black Girl serves as a collective for Black women, femmes and girls to actualize their full potential to authentically be, through autonomy, abundance and liberation.

Women's Center for Advancement (WCA)
The WCA is the designated direct service provider for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Douglas County. They help clients stay safe and grow strong by addressing both their immediate safety needs and their long-term self-sufficiency.

Youth Emergency Services (YES)
YES serves youths experiencing homelessness and near-homelessness by providing critically-needed resources, such as food, shelter, clothing and safety, which empower them to become self-sufficient.
